  5. Anuj,
Good question.. if market direction was up and idea not performing then probably my SL got trigger.. I wo'nt trade without SL in F&O.. This is costly lession learned in 2008 feb..

Normally i used to take position in F&O and then i may go for 1 lot of option CA/PA to hedge my position and then keep SL on my future position.. if SL trigger then may option is in small profit and will book profit and come out with minim loss on overall position..

thursday i missed to buy IDEA 57.50PA due to some connection issues at end.. I took same 57.5PA@1.10 on friday morning and then closed my idea futures with 2.75/- profit and then booked loss on idea 57.5PA@0.85 with loss of 0.25 paisa...

    Thanks,
    Ramesh.

  7. Hi Ramesh
good that you keep stop loss....
I don't understand this hedging business..if we are not sure what will happen its best to exit....hedging involves cost ...may be for portfolio its good ...people who don't want to sell the portfolio in small market correction.
i don't think you hedged the complete value of idea future? because in perfect hedging full value gets locked,by taking opposite position to avoid event risk...and in the end there should be no profit no loss....if in your case futures were down you would be making a loss...i think this is just partial hedging.. am i right ?
    cheers

  10. Yes Anuj..
It is partial hedging to my F&O position..it will reduce my loss if in case my SL tirgger on my future position and at the same time profits % also reduce with my trading style..

    Thanks,
    Ramesh.
